Elisa Leonelli is in charge of the Archives for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

In 2014 she wrote classic profiles of Michael Caine, Sean Connery, Bette Davis, Olivia deHavilland, Kirk Douglas, Faye Dunaway, Henry Fonda, Jane Fonda, Gene Hackman, Dustin Hoffman, Burt Lancaster, Jack Lemmon, Shirley MacLaine, Gregory Peck, Donald Sutherland. She reported on the Todos Santos Film Festival. In 2015 she wrote articles about the early years of the HFPA, the 1954 Awards ceremony, the Cecil B. DeMille and the Henrietta Awards. In 2018 added an item about Marilyn Monroe at the Golden Globes. She reminisced about Italian actor Ugo Tognazzi. In 2016 she wrote Golden Globe nominees profile for Paul Dano, Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Dev Patel, Jeff Bridges, reported on CinemaCon and Amazon Studios from Las Vegas, remembered Gene Wilder, wrote profile of Laverne Cox. In 2017 she reported on the TCM Classic Film Festival, wrote short reviews of foreign films submitted for 2018 Golden Globe consideration: BEYOND BROTHERHOOD (Panama), FORTUNATA (Italy),  MOM (India), TULIPANI (Netherlands), WHITE SUN (Nepal), wrote nominee profile for Willem Dafoe. In 2018 she wrote a review of HAPPY AS LAZZARO (Italy), a profile of Richard E. Grant, another profile of Willem Dafoe. She interviewed in Italian Luca Guadagnino, director of Call Me by Your Name, wrote The Italian Cinema of the Taviani Brothers, A Taste of Italian Cinema at Istituto di Cultura, Bernardo Bertolucci in Memoriam. In 2019 she covered CinemaCon, Pesaro Film Festival, Oaxaca Film Festival, Cinema Italian Style, wrote reviews of foreign films, The Boy Who Harnessed the WindPortrait of a Lady on Fire.  In 2020-2021 she wrote nominees profiles for Cynthia Erivo, Ana de Armas, reviews of 2020 foreign films, Charlatan, La Dea Fortuna, Pinocchio, interviews with Bette Midler, Amandla Stenberg, Janelle Monáe, Roberta Colindrez, Zoë Chao, Anya Taylor-Joy, Awkwafina, Henry Golding, Andra Day, Vanessa Kirby and others. In 2020 she interviewed Luca Guadagnino again, in 2021 she interviewed Monica Gagliano about the documentary Aware: Glimpses of Consciousness, wrote about the animated series MeteoHeroes, cinema pioneers Alice Guy and Elvira Notari. She wrote nominee’s profiles of Billy Crudup and Kaitlyn Dever. In 2022 she contributed historical posts to the 80 Years in 80 Days series, wrote about Three Thousand Years of Longing, the foreign film Il Boemo, the British series Gentleman Jack. In 2023 she wrote about the Santa Barbara Film Festival, the Italian TV series The Law According to Lidia Poët, Italian cartoonist Zerocalcare. Leonelli wrote biographies for Cecil B.DeMille award recipients 1952 to 2013, for movie actors and directors nominees 1944 to 2023. She selected special Golden Globe moments 1946 to 1994.  In 2020 she started selecting quotes Out of the Archives from early HFPA interviews 1971 to 2005.
